Steve A. Miller

"Steve A Miller was born in Cedar Rapids Iowa on November 08, 1942.  At the age of 12 he played accordion at Carnegie Hall in New York City, NY.  He then mastered the B-3 organ Linn County Band, Iowa,1965.  Shortly after forming the band he started hanging out at Mothers Blues Club in Chicago and he would jam with the blues greats Muddy Waters, Otis Rush, Magic Sam, James Cotton Luther Allison, Earl Hooker and others.  In 1967 after founding the Linn County Band he moved to San Francisco where he became a regular at Bill Graham's Fillmore West playing with The Allman Brothers, Paul Butterfield, Mike Bloomfield and other notables from the 1960's and 1970's.  There he recorded two albums on the Phillips label; "Hooker & Miller" with blues guitarist Earl Hooker and a solo album, "Stephen Miller".  After this he joined the Elvin Bishop Band making several Albums with them over the next 13 years.  Steve A. Miller also recorded with Zydeco pioneer Clifton Chenier in 1972.  In 1974 , back in Iowa he revived the Linn County Band for a short time, but soon moved to Georgia where he formed 1970's Southern Rock band Grinderswitch with Drew Lombar and Austin Pettit.  During this period he and his family lived on the Allman Brother's farm outside Macon,Ga.

Steve and his family moved to Florida in 1981 where he , Drew Lombar, Austin Pettit and Bill Hoffman ,long-time Outlaws drummer created Dr. Hector and the Groove Injectors, later evolving into The Groove Monsters and then with the addition of Dave Fiester from the Henry Paul Band.  Steve A.
